About the Role
What if your deep expertise in Rust could directly shape how AI writes and reasons about systems-level code? We're looking for experienced Rust engineers to review, evaluate, and improve AI-generated Rust code — helping ensure the next generation of AI understands memory safety, concurrency, and performance at an expert level.
This is a fully remote, flexible contract role built for senior Rust developers who want meaningful, intellectually engaging work on their own schedule.
Organization: Alignerr
Type: Hourly Contract
Location: Remote
Commitment: 10–40 hours/week
Key Responsibilities:
Review and evaluate AI-generated Rust code for correctness, memory safety, concurrency, and performance
Design, build, and optimize high-performance systems in Rust to support AI evaluation workflows
Develop backend services and tooling for large-scale data validation and quality control
Identify bottlenecks, edge cases, and system-level failure modes — and implement scalable fixes
Provide structured, expert feedback on AI outputs across a range of systems programming challenges
Work independently and asynchronously — fully on your own schedule
Requirements:
5+ years of professional experience writing production-grade Rust with a focus on memory safety and concurrency
Strong background in systems programming and performance optimization
Able to spot subtle bugs, unsafe patterns, and inefficient designs that AI might miss
Fluent in English with the ability to explain complex low-level programming concepts clearly and precisely
Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or a related technical field
Self-motivated and consistent when working independently
Nice to Have
Experience with distributed systems architecture or developer tooling
Familiarity with AI code generation tools or evaluation workflows
Background in embedded systems, OS development, or compiler engineering
Prior experience in technical writing, code review, or mentoring
Why Join Us
Work on cutting-edge AI projects alongside leading research labs and AI teams
Fully remote and flexible — work when and where it suits you
Freelance autonomy with the structure of meaningful, technically rigorous work
Make a direct, tangible impact on how AI understands and generates systems-level code
Potential for ongoing work and contract extension as new projects launch
Training and onboarding support provided — hit the ground running
