Rust Engineer / Engineer II

Belfast, UK

Hybrid Schedule (M/F remote, T/W/TH in-office)

At Magnite, we cultivate an environment of continuous growth and collaboration. Our work impacts what millions of people read, watch, and buy, and we’re looking for people to help us tackle that responsibility with creativity and focus. Magnite (NASDAQ: MGNI) is the world’s largest independent sell-side advertising platform. Publishers use our technology to monetize their content across all screens and formats including CTV / streaming, online video, display, and audio. Our tech fuels billions of transactions per day!

About this team:

We are looking for an Engineer II to join our growing team of enthusiastic engineers working on core, large scale, real time systems. Every day, as a company we serve billions of ads, process terabytes of data and provide valuable data and insights to our publishers and buyers. Every month our systems are used by 200+ million people around the world. You will be working hands-on in a smart team that is focused on the architecture of, and process innovation around, the application at the forefront of this real-time processing.

We value engineers who take ownership and are supported by a collaborative team in solving challenging problems. We look for engineers who are continuous learners and value high-quality, scalable code. You will spend your time technically hands-on, designing, coding, testing your code and working with the product team and your engineering peers on requirements and design discussions. If this sounds like you, or the engineer you want to be, we want to hear from you!

In this role you will:

  • Write production-ready code and unit tests that meet both system and business requirements.
  • Respond to feature requests, bug reports, performance issues and ad-hoc questions.
  • Work collaboratively with multiple teams to deliver quality, business critical software.
  • Support operation of services in production.

Core Competencies:

  • 2+ years of systems programming experience in Rust, C, C++, Go, Java or a comparable language with enthusiasm to write production Rust (we will help you ramp up with dedicated mentorship!).
  • Understanding of data structures and algorithms.
  • Experience building and operating large-scale, high-traffic enterprise server applications.
  • Experience with Low-Latency Mechanics: Threading, concurrency, and memory management with a focus on minimizing latency.
  • Able to balance high-quality development with pragmatism and consistent, sustainable product delivery.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical/industry experience.

Nice to Haves:

  • Experience working in a Linux environment.
  • Familiarity with networking protocols.
  • Desire to work in an environment where software engineers are full participants in shaping the product and the business.
  • Creative problem-solver who can draw on an array of expertise and technology to design and implement reliable, scalable and maintainable solutions.
  • We are committed to building a diverse and inclusive team. We encourage candidates from all backgrounds to apply, even if you don't meet 100% of the listed requirements.

Perks and Benefits:

  • Comprehensive Healthcare Coverage from Day One
  • Generous Time Off
  • Holiday Breaks and Quarterly Wellness Days
  • Equity and Employee Stock Purchase Plan
  • Family-Focused Benefits and Parental Leave
  • 401k Retirement Savings Plan with Employer Match
  • Disability and Life Insurance
  • Cell Phone Subsidy
  • Fitness and Wellness Reimbursement
