Software Engineer Go, Rust or Scala (Infrastructure - Foundation)

Veepee·Senior·Hybrid · Paris

Posted Sep 26, 2026·careers.veepee.com

Apply

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Foundation - Infrastructure Development team. You will contribute across multiple projects depending on needs and priorities, including Gaio (our GenAI Orchestrator), VeepeeCloud (our zero vendor lock-in private cloud), and other internal infrastructure services.

You will be embedded in a cross-functional team alongside SREs, DevOps engineers, and Product Owners. Our codebase spans Rust, Go, and Scala, you are expected to work across these languages as the project requires. You are expected to bring solid engineering judgment, operate confidently in high-pressure production environments, and leverage AI coding tools as part of your daily workflow.

Technical Environment:

--> Development, Operations and Maintenance of Gaio (GenAI Orchestrator):

  • LLM provider integration (OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, etc.)
  • Consumer API development and API call translation/routing
  • LLM consumption accounting and usage metering
  • Streaming response handling and protocol normalization

--> Development, Operations and Maintenance of VeepeeCloud services (depending on assignment):

  • Private cloud APIs (Compute, Storage, DNS, Certificates, NLBaaS, etc.)
  • Terraform provider for internal cloud resource consumption
  • CLI clients

--> Involvement in production operations:

  • Support participation and incident response
  • War room participation during critical production events

🎯 TASKS

  • Design, implement, and maintain production services across multiple infrastructure projects
  • Participate in architectural discussions and challenge trade-offs between approaches
  • Collaborate with SREs on infrastructure and operational decisions
  • Write high-quality, maintainable, and well-tested code
  • Respond to production incidents and contribute to their resolution
  • Participate in code reviews and maintain code quality standards
  • Use AI coding agents.

👉 MUST HAVE skills

  • 5+ years of professional software development experience on large-scale systems
  • Strong proficiency in at least one of: Go, Rust, or Scala, with willingness to work across all three
  • Proven experience with large databases (schema design, query optimization, operational concerns at scale)
  • Direct experience in production incident management: support rotations, war rooms.
  • Hands-on experience with DevOps/SRE tooling: Kubernetes, Terraform, Docker, CI/CD pipelines
  • Strong understanding of fault-tolerance, observability, scalability, and reliability in distributed systems
  • Comfortable working with AI coding agents as everyday productivity tools
  • Ability to learn fast and pick up new technologies, APIs, and domains independently
  • Good written and spoken English

👉 NICE TO HAVE skills

  • Rust experience or strong appetite to learn it (used in several of our core projects)
  • Experience with LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini) or AI gateway/proxy systems
  • Background in SRE or platform engineering
  • Open source contributions
  • Experience with multi-datacenter or hybrid cloud deployments

✅ BENEFITS

  • Variable bonus;
  • The dynamic and creative environment within international teams;
  • The variety of self-education courses on our e-learning platform;
  • Participation in meetups and conferences locally and internationally;
  • Flexible Office with up to 2 days at home.
