Embedded Software Engineer

Engineering|On site|Permanent|Cambridge

Overview

As an embedded software engineer, you will be responsible for delivering embedded software on a range of platforms for applications from flight control to radar processing.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and define the architecture of embedded software in conjunction with the wider engineering team 
  • Scope and expand our CI and automated testing and release infrastructure
  • Build high-performance, deterministic and well-tested embedded systems with a view to accreditation
  • Definition of interfaces between software elements (APIs) and over communications interfaces (protocols)

Requirements

  • Excellent embedded C/C++/Rust skills
  • Experience developing for safety-critical systems, i.e., avionics, medical or automotive
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and teamwork capabilities

Preferred Qualifications/Experience

  • Experience in fast-paced R&D or startup environments, with rapid prototype iteration times 
  • Experience with bare-metal, RTOS (i.e., NuttX, ThreadX, RTIC, Zephyr, FreeRTOS, VxWorks, INTEGRITY), and embedded Linux
  • Experience with STM32, Xilinx Zynq Ultrascale+, etc.
  • Experience with flight controllers
