Senior Rust Software Engineer

Serokell·Senior·Remote · Worldwide

Posted Oct 6, 2026·serokell.io

About Serokell

Serokell is a fast-growing, fully remote software development company that works on innovative solutions for complex problems. We’re packed full of adventurous, curious, and inclusive folks who want to build cutting-edge software with modern technologies like functional programming.

About This Opportunity

We are looking for a Senior Rust engineer to join a next-generation blockchain project.

Current Hiring Status

Currently, we do not have open roles, and our hiring process is passive, with a focus on building a talent pool for future opportunities.

Hiring Process Overview

We invite interested candidates to complete an offline test task as the first step in our process. Within a few months of completing the task, we conduct a technical interview with those whose profiles align with our requirements. When a position opens, we reach out to candidates who performed well in both stages and match the specific role needs.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience with Rust.
  • Solid knowledge of Rust’s basics: type system, generics, lifetimes, std, serde, logging, error handling, project organisation and structure.
  • Extensive experience with Rust’s async ecosystem (tokio, futures, streams).
  • Experience writing and running unit tests, integration tests.

General requirements

  • Strong grasp of computer science fundamentals, including algorithms, data structures, and concurrent programming.
  • Knowledge of computer networks: HTTP, TCP/IP stack, understanding of poll- and push-based data synchronisation models and their usage in modern service APIs.
  • Fluent spoken and written English.

Will be a plus if you have

  • Experience with blockchain.

Responsibilities

  • Develop robust, scalable, and maintainable Rust applications, adhering to best practices and coding standards.
  • Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback and ensuring code quality.
  • Debug and resolve technical issues, identifying and implementing effective solutions.

Why you should work with Serokell

  • Competitive salary.
  • Attractive international projects.
  • Participation in the leading world conferences.
  • International teams and multicultural environment.
  • Fully remote work and flexible working hours.
  • Possibility to take days off whenever you need.
  • Investment in your professional and career growth, which will correspond to wage growth.
  • Mentoring and training.
