About The Role
The Staff Backend Engineer (Rust) drives the expansion of a healthcare data platform and member management solution. The position involves leading technical standards, scaling distributed infrastructure, and launching AI initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Build and expand a healthcare data platform and member management solution.
- Write code in collaboration with the Product team.
- Own projects end-to-end and manage unstructured problems.
- Scale infrastructure connecting health insurance carriers and technology partners.
- Improve engineering standards and development processes.
- Mentor junior engineers.
Must-Haves
- Hands-on experience building and launching AI projects.
- Experience designing, building, and maintaining APIs.
- At least 8+ years of software engineering experience.
- High degree of proficiency in Rust.
- Experience working in collaborative engineering teams with transparent communication.
Nice-To-Haves
- Familiarity with Ruby.
- Experience with DevOps tooling: Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, and Terraform.
- Exposure to observability tools such as Datadog.
- Experience in performance monitoring, incident handling, or CI/CD process optimization.
- Background in large-scale distributed systems or infrastructure-heavy products.
